If you want to start
a walking program to lose weight, you should walk at least 5
days a week, for at least 30 to 40 minutes at a time. Your pace should
be brisk but not so
fast that you can't talk while walking. Wear shoes that fit
well
and are flexible enough to allow your foot to roll
through the walking motion.Your toes should be able to wiggle in the
toe bed and your heels should not slide up and down when you walk.
Bend your arms and swing them with each step but don't raise
them above your
chest
or
let them
cross
in
front.
Watch your posture - shoulders back and down, stomach in, butt tight,
head up looking straight ahead.
The
oldest existing footwear in the world is a sandal found in
a cave in Missouri USA, which was made 8,000 years ago.

Six-inch-high
heels were worn by the upper classes in seventeenth-century Europe. Two servants,
one on either side, were needed to hold up the person wearing the high heels.
